Greg Newington has worked as a photographer and editor for newspaper and publishing companies in Australia, The US and The Middle East for over 40 years. His photographs and illustrations have appeared in over 300 publications worldwide. He was Director of Photography for Australia's prestigious Fairfax Business Media Group for 11 years, overseeing the management and creative direction of sixteen magazines and two newspapers. Greg spent three years as the Photographic Editor of Australia's national daily broadsheet, "The Australian" and has worked extensively in the field as a news photographer and Photo Journalist in Somalia, The Sudan, South Africa, Bosnia, Cambodia, China, Laos and Vietnam. In 1988 Greg's News photography won him a first prize in The Australian Press Photographer of The Year awards. He was recognised with The Nikon Walkley Award for his News Photographs in 1992 and 1993. In 2005 Greg was Head of Photography for Motivate Publishing in The United Arab Emirates where he was responsible for the visual content and creative direction of their extensive stable of magazines and books. Currently freelancing in The US and Australia and based in The Serenbe community in Georgia where his gallery and studio are located Greg has shifted his focus to corporate portraiture, adventure workshops and fine art. His clients include The Sydney Opera House, Stan Topal, Studio Swan, Taylor English, Equity Estates, Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, Highlands Chamber, Australian Tourism Board, Kevin Gillespie, The Hil Restaurant, Continenental Hotel Group, The Coastal Kitchen, Farmhouse Restaurant, NSW Minister of Transport, Piedmont Cancer Centre, Sydney Hospital, Care Australia, American Express, News Certified Getty Images and The Bascom Centre for The Arts where he has lectured and exhibited.
Greg has illustrated and photographed the cover images for the 'Sam Call' series of novels by Mathew Eberz, 'A Single Seed' by Phoebe Fraser, '41 Photographers of The Middle East' and The children's book 'Grandmama's World' by Gwen Bullock. He has recently completed a year long coffee table book project for The ACCG 'Courthouses Of Georgia' for which he photographed all 159 courthouses in the State of Georgia. The book has since been recognised by The National Library Of America with an award for the best reference book of 2014.
Matthew Eberz was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has worked full-time since he was fourteen. From dishwasher to lunch wagon driver in the tough wharf section of Philly, he put himself through school. Upon graduation from Penn State University, he entered the US Army and rose to the rank of Regular Army Major. He served numerous assignments, including Platoon Leader, Unit Commander, Battalion Operations Officer, Division Transportation Officer, Chief World Wide Military Command & Control Systems Europe, and Deputy Director of the United States Army Artificial Intelligence Center at Fort Monroe, Virginia. While in the Army, he created the Run For Their Life 24-Team Marathon benefiting Special Olympics.
After his military service, Matthew remained in the computer industry, focusing on the development of significant systems for the private sector. A standout project of his was the ADAM Alert Notification System,which played a crucial role in assisting the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) with the recovery of abducted children.
As a writer, Matthew has served as the editor and publisher of the Mayoral Information Operation, publishing over 150 articles. As a political writer, Matthew publishes a SubStack with over seventy published articles. He is the author of three novels: Solemn Vow, Lethal Data, and Honor For Sale, and is currently developing the fourth novel in the Sam Call series.
